The Indiana Pacers are an NBA basketball team based in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Pacers are a member of the Eastern Conference Central Division of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

The Pacers were founded in 1967 as a member of the American Basketball Association (ABA), and after the ABA–NBA merger in 1976, they joined the NBA. The Pacers’ Rivalries
Detroit Pistons
The Pacers and Pistons first met in the 1990 Playoffs; the Pistons defeated the Pacers in three consecutive games while moving to gain their second straight NBA championship. However, the rivalry officially started in the 2003–04 season.
They faced each other at the 2004 Finals of the Eastern Conference. Thanks to late heroics from Miller, Indiana won narrowly Game 1.
